How does A3D accompany your company?

At A3D we accompany your business by providing integrated support.

We cover the stages before deployment if BIM tasks are required in a project produced with conventional methodology.

We cover all stages of deployment, from training to post-project follow-up.

And after deployment we provide a "safety net" that allows BIM projects to be completed on time thanks to our support staff and consultancy services.

BIM deployment

The road to BIM

Self-Training

Self-training in BIM is possible these days thanks to the large number of training resources available on the internet. But it takes longer and if started for use in a real project without support there is the risk of failing to meet client BIM expectations.

Training

Training is based on learning the tool in a generic scenario. This training cannot provide solutions to clients’ real projects, nor does it adjust to their standards.

Deployment

Deployment is definitely the most effective option for a company to successfully move to BIM. Combining focused training, real projects, post-project follow-up and one-off support means top speed is reached to achieve the goal.

Deployment: a modular process

Deployment is really a set of measures that together help a company and team achieve the successful use of BIM methodology. Depending on the company and team, certain measures or others are chosen.

Prior study (consultancy). The technical directors and an A3D consultant agree the strategy to follow: the team that will be trained is studied along with the software and hardware to use and the fields that will be moved to BIM, BIM managers are appointed, and the subject of the classes is chosen, along with their duration and periodicity.

-Classes (training). An A3D trainer periodically visits the client’s headquarters to train the team in the agreed-upon disciplines. At the same time, the BIM Manager (or various, if necessary) is trained.

-Generating resources. Along with the new BIM Manager the consultant sketches the general outlines of the BIM workflows the company will have: procedures, templates, content, documentation, BEP type, and more.

-Real project (training). To put the knowledge acquired into practice in a controlled environment, a project type is generated with the trainer.

-Support (consultancy). Once the team and the infrastructure are ready, the team starts working autonomously in BIM. A consultant assists them at first to resolve doubts and provide support when necessary.

-Acceleration. The pace of work increases progressively after deployment. But if it is necessary to speed up this pace, A3D can provide specific BIM content or even support staff (outsourcing) to join the new BIM team for a specific period to resolve doubts as they arise and help meet delivery deadlines.

-Support staff. After deployment, A3D offers its clients a "safety net" to ensure their projects’ deadlines and quality requirements are met. To do this, we have an extensive range of options for support in the client’s headquarters.

Support staff

Outsourcing: What does it consist of?

Delivery deadlines often make it impossible to train staff in BIM or hire staff with BIM experience in time to guarantee a project is finished.

In these situations, A3D proposes adding resources to the project. These resources move to the client’s headquarters and work shoulder to shoulder with the existing BIM team (if there is one) or form an autonomous BIM team in companies not yet working with BIM. This way of working is called outsourcing.

As an alternative, the current technology permits remote resources to also be added to a project from A3D’s headquarters.

We have multi-skilled BIM professionals who are able to perform any common task, as well as specialists in specific areas for more complex cases.

Outsourcing options

At A3D we adapt to our clients in order to maximize their resources. To do this, we provide modular outsourcing.

Professional BIM. At A3D we have specialists who adapt to your needs.

BIM workstation. To maximize the performance of our professionals, at A3D we can also provide a suitable BIM workstation.

BIM software. If you do not have BIM software licenses, A3D can provide its licenses.

Exemple 2:

Medium-sized company

Situation: Studio working with BIM wins a large project but lacks the capacity to manage it.

A3D proposal: 1 BIM manager + 3 modeling resources

How do the resources fit into your organizational chart?

Example 1 :

Small company:

Situation: Company that does not work with BIM but needs it for a single project.

A3D proposal: 2 modeling resources + management

Example 3:

Engineering with BIM

Situation: Engineering studio already regularly working in BIM, but which needs support to deliver a large project.

A3D proposal: 6 modeling resources.

Online support

When do I need online support?

At A3D we propose our online support service to our clients when they have one-off needs for specialized support.

This kind of one-off support adapts well to the BIM pre-deployment phase when defining needs and resolving early doubts. It can also be suitable for post-deployment, when a team that is trained but lacks experience needs to resolve specific problems to advance its projects.

online support options

Though we adapt to our client’s needs, the most requested fields are:

New BIM areas: Required by clients already accustomed to using BIM who want to extend their use of BIM to new areas, adapt to new technologies and solve one-off barriers (an event, for example).

Coordination: In a globalized industry, coordinating a project involving multiple agents located in different places can pose a challenge even for experienced BIM managers. At A3D we have experience in this field and offer one-off or regular support to coordinate teams and models.

Improvements and corrections: Problematic deployment can produce a lack of order and coherence in the company’s BIM resources. When our clients request it, a BIM consultant helps them adopt better habits.
